Visual Merwe-Vierhavens Rotterdam
For the graduation year of the Landscape Design study program, we are working on a project in the Merwe-Vierhavens in Rotterdam for 20 weeks.

The assignment is:
A connection between the port and the surrounding neighborhoods, with ecosystem services as the organizing principle.

This visualization shows a whole forest where the neighbors can stay and recreate. A tower has been placed in the middle in which all functions would be located, living and working and, for example, shops / restaurants.

It is an extreme idea that offers inspiration to the Municipality of Rotterdam for the following projects. The idea was conceived from ecosystem services and therefore it is interesting to first design the green space, and only then to build housing and infrastructure etc. It is a conceptual design that will be further elaborated in the coming weeks.
